How To Create a Travel Bucket List
How to Create a Travel Bucket List
Life plans, checklists, and career goals can be both fun and daunting. Creating a travel bucket list, though, is meant to be inspiring and exciting. A travel bucket list helps remind you of your dreams (small, big, and random are all allowed!) and will encourage you to get out in the world.
Below our my top tips on how to start developing your bucket list today:
#1 Dream, Then Research.
Start by taking note of every place that you’ve ever heard of that sounds interesting and looking back at past travel experiences. Then, check out travel blogs, magazines, travel lists, travel documentaries, etc. This allows you to cultivate a list that is inspired by your own passions and interests before being influenced by others.
#2 Start broad and then narrow down.
Just like any goal setting exercise, let yourself think broadly and then get more specific as ideas flourish. For example, I put that I want to go to South Africa on my list and eventually added that I want to see the penguins at Boulders Bay in South Africa.
#3 Consider Time Markers
While it’s never too late to follow through on a bucket list item, consider adding time frames or markers to move you closer to your dreams. For instance, I was recently talking with a client who’s dream was to visit all seven continents by her 30th birthday, and she’s now set to do so before her 31st.
#4: Let Inspiration be the Guide.
Remember, it costs absolutely nothing to create a travel bucket list, so let your inspiration juices flow freely. Where would you want to go if you had unlimited resources and time? Don’t be afraid to jot down ideas, save pictures, or map out ideas that sound logistically or financially impossible. When it comes to checking off your travel bucket list, if there’s a will, there’s a way.
I’ll be sharing my travel bucket list on an upcoming post, so stay tuned and please send yours over in the meantime. I love sharing ideas!!
Keep Adventuring 🙂
